Volunteers

You Can Help!

COVID 19 has changed the way we do everything but it has also put a spot light on the huge impact and value of volunteers for the food pantry services.  We appreciate all those who have been available during these extremely difficult times.

We rely heavily on the support of individuals and groups to help us feed over 900 families a month!  Every year hundreds of volunteers give thousands of hours to help support our programs, services, and special events. Every volunteer and every hour given matters for the 1 in 7 individuals struggling to have enough to eat!

At the Food Pantry we currently need help sorting and stocking food items, assembling food boxes, data entry, answering the phone, scheduling client appointments, and during distribution times. If you have a hour or more to give we most likely have a job for you! Please contact our office, 259-4000  for more information or to schedule a time to serve.

Things to consider before volunteering during COVID 19:

  • We rely on the personal responsibility of each individual to protect their own health first. If you are not feeling well or have been around some one sick please reschedule your volunteer time.
  • ALL volunteers are required to wear a mask or a face shield
  • ALL volunteers are asked to socially distance.
  • Our warehouse is warm in the summer and cold in the winter, be prepared for the environment.
  • Know your limitations and let the staff know too. We want to help you have the most positive experience when you volunteer.
  • All middle school or younger volunteers MUST be accompanied by a parent or adult.

NOTE: Do you have a special skill set (example: construction, IT training, handyman, etc.) let us know we often have stand alone projects that need technical training to complete. You service is considered as an IN KIND donation to the Food Pantry and may qualify for a tax receipt.

College student,  Kaitlyn McWhorter spent her summer helping us help others!
