Senior Farmer's Market Vouchers

Purchase Fresh Produce!

 

GCA will hold a first come first served voucher distribution on May 11, 2024 at 8AM-12 noon CT hosted at GC Extension Office at 64 Quarry Rd., Leitchfield, KY. Seniors must be 60+ years old, Grayson County resident, and meet income guidelines. Shopping cards are limited and cards from last year can be reloaded.

GCA will hold a first come first served voucher distribution on May 11, 2024 at 8AM-12 noon CT hosted at GC Extension Office at 64 Quarry Rd., Leitchfield, KY. Seniors must be 60+ years old, Grayson County resident, and meet income guidelines. Shopping cards are limited and cards from last year can be reloaded. 

Senior's not picking up for themselves MUST have a PROXY from signed, dated, and witnessed form along with a copy of their ID for proof of date of birth and address. Proxy also needs to report senior income. Forms are available at the Food Pantry and above from the downloads.

Any vouchers not distributed on 5/11/24  will be offered at the Food Pantry during regular food distributions first come, first served to eligible seniors.

$50 Market Card

Seniors receiving shopping cards can spend a little at a time or all $50 at once. Cards expire 10/31/24. 

Process to follow:

  • must bring card to the Farmer's Market
  • look from vendor excepting vouchers (signs posted)
  • select eligible produce 
  • pass card to vendor
  • enter your PIN (last 4 of your card), 
  • keep your card (can be reloaded next season)

If your card is lost or stolen call GCA 270-259-4000 and GCA can deactivate card, then issue a new card with remaining funds.

Farmer's Market season opens May 11, 2024 and will remain open thru October (or as growing season allows). 


2024 Farmer's Market OPEN 7:30AM -12 PM CT (or sellout) and will be held Wednesdays AND Saturdays at GC Extension Office at 64 Quarry Road, Leitchfield.

All Farmer's Market vendors have completed PBPT (Produce Best Practice Training).

All Farmer's Market vendors have completed PBPT (Produce Best Practice Training). All vendor farms are inspected for cleanliness, proper handling of food, and other good agricultural practices through the Grayson County Extension Office, Ag. Agent, Whitney Carman.. 


 The purpose of the Kentucky Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) is to gain market access for farmers as well as improving nutrition of low income families by providing them better access to fresh fruits and vegetables.  

Voucher Program Downloads

Proxy required to pick up for a qualifying senior adult. Proxy Form must be signed, dated, and witnessed to be valid. One per senior applying. Also bring proof of age and address. Income is reported not shown. Forms can also be picked up at Food Pantry.
